In 2013, I joined Give an Hour - a nonpartisan, nonprofit national network of mental health professionals - as a way to give back to my community by providing free counseling to returning troops and their families.

With more than 2.6 million troops deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq and the Persian Gulf, since September 11, 2001, the need for counseling services for both the soldier and his/her family is great. Being able to seek out local and affordable mental health care should not be difficult nor should cost be an issue - especially for the men and women who have chosen to serve in the military.

As a bilingual therapist, my hope is to help individuals and their family get care they may have not otherwise obtained. Family members of veterans can consist of married or unmarried partners, parents, siblings, aunts/uncles - essentially anyone related to the veteran who is suffering a psychological effect as a result of their loved one's service.

Free counseling services are offered in Middlesex, New Jersey and will be limited to one hour a week.  For further information regarding Give an Hour and office location information, click
