Is this you?

Does your 3 - 8 year old cry a lot, have difficulty sleeping, have seemingly unpredictable outbursts?

Do they worry a lot about things they shouldn't be worrying about?

Is your own insecurity/anxiety getting in the way of being the type of parent you wish you could be?

Do you want to feel less drained and exhausted and more in control and confident as a parent?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, know that you are not alone.

Parenting can indeed be a beautiful and rewarding journey, but let's be honest – it often doesn't feel that way on a daily basis.

With unpredictable outbursts, bedtime struggles, and difficulties in connecting with others, parenting can be challenging.

This is especially true if you have a child facing emotional or social challenges.

Being a parent to a struggling child can leave you feeling powerless, like you've failed, resentful of other parents, isolated, and it may even strain your relationships.

As a Registered Play Therapist, I can assist you in better understanding your child, increase your sense of control and confidence as a parent, teaching you how to enjoy more quality time and fun with your child(ren), and helping you balance your life alongside your parenting duties.

What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy is a form of non-verbal therapy that uses toys, games, and creative arts to facilitate communication.

Many people are familiar with "talk therapy," where a client verbally shares their thoughts and feelings with a therapist.

However, for children aged 3 to 8, they may lack the vocabulary to express their emotions or may not know the right words to articulate how they feel.

By employing "tools" such as toys, games, crayons, paint, and drawing materials, therapists trained in play therapy can gain insight into the challenges children are facing.

This insight is then used to help the child find coping strategies and to support parents in becoming more knowledgeable about their child's needs.

I currently provide two types of services for children. Click the buttons below for detailed information.

"My parent-sessions with you gave me so much insight into my daughters verbal and non-verbal cues.  I would not have recognized these cues without your help."
