Conquer Your Pile of Wellness Books
A Virtual Book Club
I don't know about you, but I speak to a lot of other mental health professionals who often find ourselves themselves too tired after a long day of caring for others to engage with work-related materials.
The books that want to read to enhance their skills and improve their relationships with their clients, often get left on a night stand, shelf or floor collecting dust.
That’s why I created this book club!
For as little as $8/month, I invite you to join me, virtually once a month, and process the books we want to read chapter by chapter.
Welcome to my monthly virtual book club for healthcare and wellness professionals. This book club is designed to help us tackle the self-help and educational books we've accumulated but haven't read.
Why sign up?

As a clinical social worker with a private practice for the last 15 years, I've found that reading books to enhance my skills-that weren't mandatory for any training I was pursuing- went to the wayside. These books just ending up piling up in my office, in my living room and on my nightstand.
While I've always wanted to read the books, the motivation to do so was just not there. I knew I wanted and needed two things:
-
consistent and reliable accountability
-
a community of like-minded individuals who would be able to process some of the concepts, ideas we were reading about while also discussing how such ideas can be implemented and enhance our work with our clients/patients.
This is why I started this virtual book club for wellness and healthcare practitioners.

Who is this Book club for & who can join?
This group is meant for fellow healthcare and wellness practitioners to finally open up those self-help and wellness books that we've been wanting to read and meet monthly, virtually, to talk about the chapters we have read.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When and where will this Book club meet?

A: Meetings take place via Zoom, on the 2nd Monday of the month from 12:15 pm- 1:15 pm.
Q: When is your Next Meeting?

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 13th from 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm, EST.

Q: What Book Are You Currently Reading?

A: I'm happy to report that this Book club has checked off one of the books we had in our pile of books:
Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents - How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents by Lindsay Gibson.
I’ve had this book on my bookshelf for the past five years and while I’ve wanted to crack it open and learn about the title’s dynamic, I never felt pulled enough do so.
That is, until now. The Conquer Your Pile of Wellness Book club has voted to make this our next read, and read we shall!
So, join us! Our next meeting will be on Monday, October 13th from 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm, EST and we will be discussing chapters 3,4 & 5.
Q: How much does being a member of this Book Club cost?

A: This book club is only $8 per month. You can cancel at anytime and your membership will be cancelled the following month. Rates are not prorated.

Q: Will I have to purchase the Book we are reading?

A: The short answer is, Yes! Unless, you are savvy like me and know how to make the most out of your local library.
Q: Do I have to attend every meeting?

A: Attending every meeting is not a requirement but it is what you are entitled to as a paid member.
Please note, refunds will not be provided if you don’t show up for a meeting.
With that being said, since we will be most likely reading the same book for a few months, missing one meeting shouldn’t impact your ability to keep up with the group and we welcome you to join us anytime as long as you are reading the book.
Q: What other kind of books will you be reading?

A: I'm open to expanding my knowledge about various books - both mainstream and Indie books.
Here are a few books I've been wanting to read for some time but have not had the chance to.
-
What Happened to You by Oprah Winfrey & Bruce Perry
-
Waking the Tiger by Peter A. Levine
-
Scattered Minds by Gabor Maté

Q: Do we have to read the entire book in between meetings?

Unlike some of the other book groups you probably are a part of, we will not be reading the entire book in between meetings. My goal with this book club is to make is accessible and doable. Based on the book we are reading, we will break it down to chapters and then gather to process those chapters. This will allow us to realistically tackle our book pile.
Q: I'm ready to connect, read and expand my knowledge in 2025! Where Can I Sign Up?
