Play Therapy History: Who, What, When, Where, Why & How to Integrate it into your Practice
Most clinicians use play without knowing the theory behind it, or skip it because "I don't work with children." This 3 hour, in-person training covers the history and major theories of play therapy, the difference between directive and non-directive work, and live demonstrations you'll practice.

About the event
Join Christine M. Valentín, a licensed clinical social worker and Registered Play therapist for an in-person, CE training for mental health professionals.
Description: Play is how children make sense of the world, and adults never fully lose that language. This beginner, in-person training covers where play therapy came from, the theories that shaped it, and how directive and non-directive approaches differ in practice. You won't just hear about techniques. You'll try them in the room and leave knowing which ones fit your setting, whether that's private practice, a school, a non-profit, or a caseload of adults.
Don't work with children? You'll still walk away with games and activities you can use with adult clients, or recommend to them for use at home.
