FAQs
Q: Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 3–12 who are looking for practical, play-based tools to build cooperation, reduce power struggles, and strengthen their relationship with their child.
Q: Do I bring my child with me?
No — this workshop is for parents only, so you can fully focus and participate. If childcare is a barrier, I recommend making arrangements in advance of purchasing your ticket.
Q: What’s the format of the workshop?
This is a 3-hour, in-person interactive session. It includes brief teaching segments, real-life examples, live demonstrations, small group discussion, and practical handouts you can take home. Bathroom breaks and snack breaks will also occur.
Q: What if I sign up but can't attend?
I understand that life with children is unpredictable. Here's my cancellation & refund policy:
- Full refund if canceled 7 or more days before the workshop
- No refund for cancellations made within 7 days of the event
- You may also transfer your registration to another parent with notice
While my hope is that this workshop will help each attendee with their child's needs, you should know that I DO NOT specialize in working with children with certain neurodivergent or physical needs and therefore can not say whether this workshop will help with your specific situation. My recommendation is to contact me via email or phone to learn more about whether I think you should attend this workshop based on what you share.
Q: Is this therapy?
No — this is a parent education workshop, not a therapy session. It will give you therapeutic tools and insights to use at home, but it is not a substitute for individual or family therapy.
Q: Will I be required to participate in the activities?
No, but you should know that one of the best ways to learn what will work for you so that you can take it back home is to have a willingness to try some of the games and activities that I will show. You are not, however, required to do the activities, nor will I ask you to.
Q: I’m not really a playful parent… will this still help me?
Absolutely. You don’t need to be silly or theatrical to use the tools I teach but you do have to willingness to be playful. This workshop will show you how to use simple, everyday moments to bring playfulness into your interactions— no pretend tea parties required. I'll help you find a style that fits you as long as you have a willingness to try.
